Nice hotel with friendly staff, centrally placed
Reception man was really nice. He was from Sri Lanka. Very polite and welcoming. Strategic to many attractions. Clean and quiet . I was giving a lecture at a high profile conference the next day, good night sleep was essential and I was given a really quiet room on the top floor .

Staff were polite and so helpful and greet you with a cheerful smile.
Lovely staff, hotel a bit dated, room quiet small and could do with updating. Several light bulbs etc not working, wall paper coming off walls, blind on window could do with updating. Got a good night's sleep, bed comfy enough. Didn't have breakfast as it was far too expensive in my option

What was the highlight of Grange White Hall Hotel
The location is ideal if you're coming to London to visit the British Museum. Unless the museum puts you up in their guest suite (do they even have one?!), you can't be closer to it.
The hotel is probably fine 10 months of the year. But in the summer season, it is really unpleasant because not only does it lack air conditioning, but there is no forced air heating system (which would enable you to at least move the air around), there is no cross ventilation in terms of the position of the windows, so your room gets incredibly hot and stuffy. I wouldn't be surprised if the temperature was in excess of 90 degrees, even at night with the two windows open and while running the fan (a small one they store in the armoire). Of course, the fan does little good because you can't force air into a small space unless there is a way for the air on the opposite side of the room to escape. But, as mentioned, there is no cross ventilation, so no escape, and hence running the fan does little good. It was very hard to sleep under these circumstances. Again, this criticism pertains only to the summer season. For the rest of the year, the hotel is probably ok in terms of room temperature. A related criticism is that when I arrived at 6 pm to check in, I was told by the smiling person at the front desk that I had received a complimentary upgrade to an executive room. This turned out to be on the top floor with an eastern exposure. It did strike me as a bit odd that, at the height of the tourist season, someone arriving so late in the day could be upgraded to such a room. When I got to the room, I understood the ruse: the top floor is, of course, the place to which all the heat trapped in the building rises. It was quite hot. This problem only got worse at sunrise the next morning as the sun shone into those two windows I mentioned, heating the place up even more. In retrospect, I am sure that the "upgrade" was a "downgrade" in terms of comfort; and, undoubtedly, I was given a room that someone who had booked it had exchanged earlier in the day for cooler quarters on a lower floor.
